The Hand of Love
As I watched, I saw babies swimming with their mom. I saw fish swimming in and out of coral homes. I saw plants living in symbiotic relationships. I saw natural beauty.

I saw a multitude of variety in the plants and fish—both in the types of plants and fish, and variety within the same species. I saw an environment (water) that supported life (fish). I saw so many things I can’t even figure them all out to talk about them.

But I also thought about how we don’t live close to nature anymore. And so we don’t know, many of us, the slightest thing about it.

Many of us, all we see are dirty city streets, littered with trash and horrible city sounds, honks, thuds, clatters, and poundings, along with so many homeless people. We see more plain buildings than fancy ones, garish colors, cluttered streets, too many cars, and car pollution.

I thought I’d share with you my thoughts. You see, we don’t get this living in the cities. We don’t get this living among man.

In the coral reefs I saw the hand of love that made the fish. I saw the level of care that was crafted into everything that was.

The hand that planned the water, the temperature, the density, the salinity, whatever mineral content there is, the amount of oxygen per liter, the amount of light per foot or meter of depth. I saw the beauty, the rocks, the coral, the fish with amazing colors.

The food for each animal, the families, the mother fish having everything they need in terms of knowledge and environment to raise their babies.

Fish were given fin and flipper to navigate the environment, gills, protective scales, a slithery coating on the scales to help them with the friction of the environment, the ability to withstand the pressure of their atmosphere how many fathoms under the crest.

I saw the “rolling hills” of the terrain, the sea floor.
(How would we know what flat meant if we didn’t have mountains, prairies, or rolling hills?)

Intricate detail mounted on a tapestry of intricate detail, Revealing the love behind creation.
The multitude of meticulous care and detail that went into everything.

No wonder He said it is good. It is very good.

If we look at any environment on the face of this earth, from rainforests to prairie we can see the same loving care and attention to detail everywhere we look.

Then I thought about how stressed and anxious we get about our lives.

Are we not of more worth than the fish of the sea? (Or the lilies of the field or the birds of the air?) The same care that crafted and created the infinite details of this world is at work in our very lives everyday to produce “It is good. It is very good.”

I wish I had connected with this thought years ago, the love He has for us and how very much he wants to help us with everything in life. I wouldn’t have wasted so much time needlessly worrying and being so anxious about everything. Be still and know that He is God.
